- Alpkit: Good stuff at excellent prices, also very good returns and warranty. Their stuff is only available online at http://www.alpkit.com/shop/ Dry bags are brilliant and light, and therma rests.
- Cotswolds Outdoor: Can be quite expensive but there are local stores so you could go in to try stuff on or check stuff out before buying online elsewhere. Website is http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/ Remember your DOE discount card gives you 15% off here.
- Go Outdoors: Good range of stuff at very good prices (provided you have/have access to a discount card- Mel and Jess are willing to lend theirs). They also do the price match and then take a further 10% off which can also be very, very useful! Even if you find something for a pound cheaper you also get the extra 10% so look at the internet and search for lower prices elsewhere. They can be found at http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/ and there is a shop near Dock Gate 20 in Southampton.
- Mountain Warehouse: Another very well priced place with a lot of semi own-brand kit. Also have local shops at Castlepoint but can be found online at http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/ Look at the clearance and buy one get one free sections. We get lots of our DoE kit from here.
- Another useful place to consider if you are buying anything is Google Shopping. This can be very, very useful for finding the most bargainous kit and finding some great prices at some less well known online stores.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with any of us if you want advice on kit- as you may have gathered both Jess and Mel are very much Gear Junkies...
